Initially I got excited over this drama after hearing that Eita and Ueno Juri were finally going to be paired as the main lead of their own romantic drama. They are one of my favorite pair ups although they’ve never really had the limelight to themselves as a romantic couple though they’ve worked together in so many dramas and films in the past. However, after watching the first episode, I immediately knew I was going to get more than what I expected from this drama. One senses that this drama attempts to be more than just a TV flick. The use of plot devices abound if you are sensitive enough.

As I expected the performances by seasoned actors Eita and Ueno Juri are superb. However, the other characters are also well-acted. Even Jaejoong whom I initially thought was just in this drama for eye candy more than competently plays his role. All in all the Sunao ni Narenakute bunch are a strong cast of interesting and lovable characters played by competent actors. The story consists of complex threads of relationships between these five people who meet through Twitter. What I like about this drama most is the sincerity in the characters’ drive towards creating genuine friendships. This is a very character-driven drama, and the characters will definitely endear you with their humanity, their kindness, their earnestness, and their tragic flaws. This is a drama that must not be missed!.
