If you expect to see a "typical" Miike-movie, you’re at the wrong address. 13 Assassins is a very solid, perfectly shot movie with exceptional actors and great pictures (although they are not that experimental as you might expect). It can be affiliated to all the other good samurai-classics and I definitely recommend you to watch this! Miike is able to astonish his fans once more by doing something unexpected: Creating a great not too surreal movie! Be ready for an orgy of blood and fights! The action scenes are aesthetic and wicked - maybe just a little bit over the top for some viewers, so be mentally prepared :-).
