EDIT: After seeing the second episode, my opinion remains the same. It’s entertaining, so I’d watch it. I think most audiences who are either mystery people or light hearted comedy fans will like it. Actually, I think most people who aren’t looking for a particular genre would like it too. It’s just a little fun thing, it’s not award winning acting, but it’s fun.

Hello,

Now as par usual, my review is more of a opinion then that of really strong critique. It’s only episode one so far, but I think this series shall be pretty good (and most likely a short one as are most Detective Dramas in Japan…a damn shame!)This show appears to be about children detectives who solve crimes with the help of their teacher, but so far its more about the teacher solving them herself.

First of all, the kids…well I didn’t really get their point. Except to narrate, which is all fine and dandy, but being that they are a narrator, I have so far wished they had a bit more involvement. In the first case, all they did was want to help their friend, which is great and made the ending all the more heartfelt, but they kinda just went LETS BE DETECTIVES BRO, and then they just followed around their teacher who solved it. I could tell the teacher was going to be the main charachter from the start, but like in Wallflower(Nadeshiko Henge) with the little boy starting the show off, confused me, it made me think the boys would have a more prominent roll in solving everything. I mean they were adorable so it’s all good.

To be honest though, except for that I really enjoyed the episode. The kids made me laugh, the inspector made me go "REALLY? No…no…really?" and our main actress gave a pretty darn good performance. She deffinetly was scary when she was angry.

On the mystery side, I couldn’t figure it out, but the filmmaker did leave the clues so you could figure it out first, so I look forward to trying harder next time.

Now, while I doubt there will be two seasons, I think this drama will be your worth your while, It’ll make you laugh, make you tear a bit, and give your brain some work too.

Do enjoy~
