I watched the movie because my 2 favourite actors were in it and the storyline sounded good. However I have to say I am a little bit disappointed with it.
The acting and the plot were great, but there were moments that just didn’t make the movie believable. Personally, I prefer movies that are either a complete fantasy or the ones that are closest to real life. This movie was in the middle and I didn’t like that.
Yes, the message that it was supposed to bring was very everyday-life like, however the setting didn’t make it believable. First is the actress. She’s not that much of an ugly duckling, I’m sorry. It was just the teeth, and she could have done an operation if it was real life. She lives alone, has a good job, so it’s not like she couldn’t afford it…
Second is the reason he liked her. Vision impairment. I’m not a doctor, but I haven’t heard of anything like that, and I know at least that the reason why one would see ugly things as beautiful is due to brain damage, not the eyes. And brain damages don’t go away just like that…
It was fun to watch the actors act their roles, but as a movie with a message, I didn’t feel touched at all..
