I expected the best of this dorama when I saw that the main protagonist was Shida Mirai. She really shined out in Jyoou no Kyoushitsu. Her natural yet kawai acting were in par with the excellent performance of Amami Yuki herself back then. But, I have to say that I’m quite disappointed after finishing this "Shokojo Seira".
After Jyoou no Kyoushitsu, it seemed that quite often Mirai get a stereotypical act as a person being bullied badly. First, in Seigi no Mikata and now in Shokojo Seira. I don’t mind watching an over-exaggerated bullying, but thrice, happened on a same actress. Well, 7 point out of 10 is the best I can give.
The story is about a girl who came from a very rich family. But, when she was a student in all school girl, her life changed suddenly. She lost all of her fortune and had to work as a maid in her former school. I don’t want to spoil it anymore than this. You can read the synopsis for a better view.
The idea was not new, but still with a good script it should have been interesting to follow. Unfortunately, you will not find a clever plot or twist in it. The story was pretty much predictable. To make it worse, almost all of the actors and actresses were over-acting. Only Hayashi Kento, as Kaito, looked really natural and enjoyable to watch. As for Mirai, as I said before, her acting itself wasn’t bad, but her part was already too stereotypical for her.
Overall, "Shokojo Seira" is not the dorama of the year. It is even quite boring, especially in the middle. But if you want to find a simple pass-timer, this dorama can still provide you one..
