I beg to differ with the preceding review.  I found Otomen incredibly amusing.  It has the feel of a shoujo manga translated directly to the screen.  The comedy is exceedingly obvious, but that is part of the appeal.  If you are looking for immediate pay off with the love-story, this is the wrong drama for you.  Otomen focuses more on the episodic conflicts concerning of the characters, and yes, I will admit most of it is trivial.  But it nevertheless a fun ride.  I cannot count the number of times I caught myself saying ‘kawaii’ aloud..
