I’ve been waiting for this forever! I am currently reading the manga and absolutely adore it and also the anime so I was so excited to watch the first episode. I give it only a 7/10 initially but I’ve changed my mind, it’s more like 9/10 now. So far it’s following the manga pretty closely, there’s only a few minor changes. I think that the actor that plays Gong Xi (Kyoko) overacts parts of it but for the most part she’s pretty good and cute too but wrong hairstyle…1) it’s not orange and 2) it’s not the same cut. I’ll give this drama a chance just because I love Skip Beat (anime and manga) and surprisingly I don’t hate the drama adaptation, in fact I love it. The beginning was a bit overdone and weird with too much CG but it gets way better from there on out. I was a little bit worried that I’d be extremely disappointed with the live action. I’m not disappointed and I’m quickly being sucked in… I’m always looking forward to the next episode and I really hope it turns out well and doesn’t cut off where the anime did. The manga has soooo much more story and the anime was just the tip of the iceberg. (I am however a bit offset by the actor they chose to be Ren, he does act the part well and is good looking but somehow he doesn’t quite look enough like Ren.) I take this last part back, he grows on you as you watch more and he does suit the part very well! The actor that plays Ren’s manager is awesome and same with president Lori, they fit the role to a T! LOVE IT! Anyways, I’m already praying for a second season because there’s just so much left of the story!!! It’s just getting to the good part now but it’s ending soon! All in all, this drama is just great, it’s unexpectedly very funny, cute and well rounded. The cast is pretty good and they have great chemistry, plus the music is very catchy. All I can say is FINALLY!!! Skip Beat! Fighting!.
