Move through Fantasy and Reality while watching Asian Drama!
Description: Nothing heals a damaged soul like the sight of a small, adorable animal. In director Gavin Lin?s feature film debut IN CASE OF LOVE, a tiny cat not only heals a young woman (Haden Kuo) reeling from the death of her mother, it also helps her find love with a lonely rock musician (Tony Yang, FORMULA 17). A pure love story in every sense of the word, IN CASE OF LOVE is a simple, heartwarming little movie about learning how to stand back up when life knocks us down.
Cute but kind of vacuous
If you like cute little animals this film is worth a try. But this would be the only reason to recommend it.
Although the characters each seem to have their own motivation, I could not get myself to like them. None of the relationships between them grows and you have to guess most of their feelings.
The plot is undecisive and vague. It is a rather weird mix of tragedy and romance. Several story lines are started but only a few develop further and I think none of them ends somewhere. Everytime I tought: "Oh, this could develop into something entertaining…", it turned into something depressing and boring.
In favour of the film works the realistic acting. Also the camera work is quite good. But I always rate a film/series by its entertainment factor. And this films is rather low. I have seen a lot worse, but also a lot better films.
Conclusion: If you have nothing else to do this is a film that can be watched. But in my opinion it does not have a message and will soon be forgotten after watching..
