Move through Fantasy and Reality while watching Asian Drama!
Description: The drama will use an original story that differs from the manga, revolving around 12 people who obtain a ?future diary,? which allows them write down ?predictions? of the future that will come true. However, they are all part of a game of survival, in which they must use their diaries to try to kill each other and be the last one remaining, earning a place on the ?God?s seat.? Okada plays Hoshino Arata, a lazy college student who doesn?t believe in spending effort or working toward the future. One day, he gets a diary (the ?future diary?) on his mobile phone, and he becomes involved in the game of survival.
Arata and Yuno, as well as the other participants of this death match, are given a limited edition smartphone. The future of the holder of that smartphone is already written in a diary entry form with the exact time of it’s occurrence and where will it happen. The "predicted future diary entries" somehow resembles/matches the personality of the holder, and the diary itself could even predict when and where you’ll die. However, they can change their future by evading that certain event and not to let that happen.
I’ve only watched the first episode so I figured that this review will not be able to satisfy your curiosity. The original manga version is the best version of this story. No doubt about it, right? However, the anime version is great because the emotions and the elements of drama is portrayed properly. That is something a manga cannot portray unless you are an avid manga reader.
In this live action, Arata’s (Amano Yukiteru in Anime) dad is killed because he is also a holder of the Future Diary wherein in anime, Amano’s dad was killed because of 11th. Well, it’s great that they use the same plot but different in story because that’s where we find it original even though the anime just finished. It’s not boring, though, because there’s a "Hunger Games" feel to it (HAHA).
This is a great drama. But you should at least read the manga. If you’re not a reader then at least watch the anime version of it..
