My first time to watch HK drama. I like the fast turnout of events - it helped me remember and connect them from start to finish and appreciate the story and the actors’ portrayal of their roles. The leading lady, Linda Chung, is able to share with us her talent with singing and with the cello. The background song (what’s the title? ) is very appealing, it adds class to the drama. I like how that song is included at the start and the end of every episode. The leading man, Bosco Wong, is able to handle his role pretty well and so are the rest of the cast. ... Although the ending is not what i expected ( I wanted a happy ending) i like the way it comes out. The ending made me think: What is going to happen to Chi-lam? who will take care of her? obviously, the tragic end of Kit (Sum) and the bad outcome of her father and uncle will leave deeper emotional scar for her, and open old wounds as well. it won’t be good. BUT before all these tragedies unfolded, Chi-lam was beginning to get her strength from spiritual source. She finds comfort in going to a catholic chapel and listening to the choir’s practice.
Real life is just what the story portrays. Every life has its end and everyone has a mission. There is a reason why one is born. There are episodes where God is mentioned in the story, but God is referred in 2 different ways: as Buddha (Kui brothers talking about how God has delivered them) and as the Father of Jesus Christ (catholic chapel scene). I am a Christian so I will refer to God as Jesus’s father.
In the story, Kit’s role is important in portraying that every one has a mission. When he was young, he was able to be rescued from the fire that took his parents’ life, which means that it was still not his end. His life as an orphan taught him how to face the world, and his life in the orphanage prepared him to accept his destiny in a positive way. He had a dangerous life as a police officer but his mission was to uncover the past mistakes of the Kui brothers to bring justice to the death of Shawn’s father and also a chance for the Kui brothers to repent for their sins before they leave this earth. After he is finished with his mission, he died.
The story shows us that money is not a guarantee for happiness. Being wealthy and "having it all" is nothing because everything has its end. What is important is how we lived our lives in preparation for the final judgment.
Thank you so much. I like the story. I will recommend this to people i know who also watch dramacrazy movies….
