With a myriad of dramas to choose from in any language, it?s sometimes hard to find one that will really pull at your heart strings or find the one that defines all other dramas by standing the test of time. It?s too early to know if this is one that will be talked about for years to come but one thing I do know is that usually anything Matsumoto Jun touches turns to gold. The quality of MatsuJun?s acting is matched by few whether in Japan or in America. His range is amazing as he plays characters of all different types. From the wide eyed credulous culinary student in ?Bambino? to the self-absorbed ego driven son of wealth and fortune in Hana Yori Dango, he seems to always immerse himself fully in each role he plays to the point where you believe him and the character he plays are one in the same. I’m not a crazy fanboy so I don’t want to just assume because he’s in a drama or with only 2 episodes out while I’m writing this review that it MUST be a 10, since it takes time to see if a dramas storyline is on par with a great like story like Hana Yori Dango, You’re beautiful, or others that are a 10 without question. Anyone can enjoy a drama without really appreciating the work time and effort put into crafting each scene but its important not to just blindly think something is great without seeing the body of the work and hard spent effort first. unless you’re a teenyboppper at a boyband concert…. then even the worst song sounds good. but anyway so far, it looks very promising, and he’s had a very good track record and that deserves credit. I think ?drama with a really long name? (Summer Romance Shines in Rainbow Colors) has a lot of potential and depending on the writers can either become very predictable or can become an amazing work of art but as it just started airing in Japan on July 19th it?s an unknown at this point. I believe that anything Matsumoto Jun touches usually turns to gold and am excited to see where this story takes us. All in all Summer Romance stands to be a fun drama..
