script writers who wrote this episode really stupid. i really like japan version. and hoping so much korean version be good to. but this episode they made dr.jin like "that". saving magisterate who is killer and rapist. really make me feel sick!!!! for once or three time i really think want to punch dr. jin face just for him to realize basic morale. that magisterate even want to rape and kill some one u care most, but still saved him. it's really pissed me off!!!! script writer dumbass!!!
@zebraxyz I'm one who loves the Japanese version more too. I like almost everything about Minakata sensei. But I don't think it's that "dumb" for Dr. Jin in this episode to save the magistrate. As far as I remember, Minakata sensei is someone who will save anyone regardless of what they did. There's this scene where Minakata sensei saved a person who tried to burn the houses of innocent citizens. He was angry at that time and hesitated on saving that person. In the end, he came to the conclusion that all lives are equally valuable regardless of what they did. He even begged that person to let him cure him. ^^
@jeanniec, i understand that. i knew that for a doctor u have an oath to help anyone who need it u. in situation like minakata sensei got in to. i can't argue with that. even if i am a doctor i'll help those poor people. but in this episode 12 korean version, that magistrate is a killer and a rapist, be more realistic. do u still want to help that man if u in dr.jin position? plus he was almost gonna rape and kill the girl u care most. even GOD will punish him. in minakata sensei situation there was a war happened just like korean version but in the story japanese version there was no rapist b
there was no rapist been saved. i just got really angry why korean script writer add that scene, they made dr. jin acting like fool. In any war in this world, volunteer doctor just like in somalia or other country at war. they save anyone they can save. but they never know the patient story is he a killer or something else. but dr. jin he already know. but regardless "that" i still give script writer 10 point plus for added flashback scene 'bout friendship between three of them. it was really so sweet ^o^
PS: Sorry for rash comment, that because i love this drama .
@zebraxyz Nope. In Jin 2 ep.1, Minakata sensei was hesitant in curing Saigo Takamori who commanded that the town was set on fire (which caused loss of several innocent lives). In saving him, it means more innocent lives might be loss (similar situation as in this episode). He's better off saving the victims of the citizens than saving this man. He was almost going off when he managed to fight his urge of not saving the culprit who doesn't care abt the citizens.
He said "What I've been curing is the burns on people from the fire you started. You guys don't care about what happens to the people. But I can't do the same things you guys do. Rather than wasting my time saving guys who selfishly start battles and burn towns and fields, I'd rather helped children who have been burned. But, right here and now, if I let you die without helping, I would become the same as you guys. I'm not someone who discriminates against life!"
In answer to your question that If I were Dr. Jin, would I still save him? As a normal person, my heart would tell me 'no, don't save him' but as a doctor, "Yes, I have no choice but to save him". It's not a doctors duty to judge the death of a person. That's a judge's job. A doctor doesn't choose his/her patient just like a teacher doesn't choose his/ her student (regardless of how naughty/ evil that person is. A convict sent to a hospital has to be treated regardless of whatever crimes done. I believe that's what Minakata sensei meant when he said "I'm not someone who discriminates against life!" ^^
I love this drama too. Love Minakata sensei more as he is always with smiles. Dr. Jin lacks that warm smile that sensei has. :P
@jeanniec, well.. we have different conclusion 'bout that. if i were there i"ll hang that magistrate up side down so wild animal can eat him alive. hahaha....
yeah.. agree with the smile. the drama director seem not captured that right. many scene seem a bit awkward between lead actor-actress. although both of them good in acting but there was something missing. in my opinion japanese version still more satisfied me. although the ending not so good.
btw jean how could u type so many? pm me for answer. thanks..
when young hwi was talking to bbbbb during his last moments fighting with him...it reminded me of the scene from warrior baek dong soo, both scene are so sad.. plus i really liked this brother...aargh, whe did he die :(
