LOL, I can see you are bit of a romantic; do you think those other things would have counted for much if she wasn't beautiful?! Men are mostly quite visual and shallow creatues and everything we have seen about the king so far, indicates that he isn't exactly the deepest of fellows, if good-natured.

There is a big gap between the more modern romantic dramas, where the woman is often not that attractive or even young (Sam-soon being the classic example). If Dong Yi was frumpier, pushing thirty and a bit overweight, I doubt the king would have taken to her in the same way.

ha ha got your point ! but caaaarefuuullll.....men out there may not take kindly to that visual shallow jazz.yes. the king mystified me a bit, he lacks depth. Look how easily he could laugh so heartily inspite of his mother lying there poisoned.Apart from guilt,he did not dwell too long on finding out indepth of the incident. Still he was a good politician,able to control his corrupt ministers,mete out justice as they deserved,and brave enough to stand up against them.

I am looking forward to that part too. Then again, this is only episode 20 and there is still 30 more episodes to go. I can't wait for when Dong Yi does become a concubine. The king will have to see her more as a woman though. Right now I think He see's her more as an amusing young girl. The king also still believes that he's still in love with Consort Hui.
