I feel so, so, very sad for the Queen,Jang's elevated status plus her intelligence which is above the king's is going to be a threat for her.This king as kind and down to earth as he might be, seems a little overboard with his woman. He asks's jang to give recognition for Dong yi? shoudn't that be done by the queen!!! He sadly displaced her authority. If you notice whilst he is acting like a court fool! Jang sits with the countenance of a royalty!! No wonder her benefector send her to the palace as a concubine,knowing this king is a philanderer. Corruption must have thrived during this king's reign.

to be fair though it was the practise to have concubines and consorts; especially if the Queen couldn't conceive a male heir - you need to guarantee the succession for stability of the monarchy and to provide the royal family with a generation of supporters for the next king.

They gave his name as Prince Yi, don't know who he is, but he couldn't have been a son of Seukjong so must have been either a brother or royal cousin. Seukjong had at least 5 sons including the ones by Jang and Dong Yi but that was all later. It could also have been some artistic licenses being taken by the drama producers of course.

The actress Park Ha Sun as Queen Inhyeon is pretty but she is not giving grace and glamour as a Queen because her mouth is always left open after she delivers her every line. Can she not at least close her mouth after she speak? At least she should give a good facial poise as the first wife of the King. Of all the 3 characters (DOng Yi, Ok Jung). she is the 3rd as far acting is concerned. Wish she could do justice as Queen, and work more hard in acting as she is being left behind by the 2 actresses. This is only my honest opinion. Hope she will be made aware of this. Thanks.

I think she might have been intentionally told to play her that way; the scriptwirters seem to have made the Queen's character rather passive; when the records that we have point to her being actually quite an intelligent and capable figure. I guess the producers want Dong Yi to be the main focus of attention, hence they have sort of made sure that the limelight isn't deflected onto Jang or the Queen's characters.
