How many times is Eun almost going to get hit by a car til Bok saves her?

In "Sang Doo! Let's Go to School" (by the same writer and with Rain in the lead too) both Sang-doo and his love interest get hit by a car on different occasions. Both survive the first hit with minimal injuries but I think it's a way of foreshadowing the ending, which involves a car accident, and keep it from being too much of an out of the blue surprise.

I feel so sorry for eun suk - she's so nice and she's been emotionally abused and treated like a thing by her step mother, her father and the rich so-and-so who claims to love her. In the end, the intentional revenge was actually the least of her worries - and if people hadn't played with her life and ignored her wishes and her heart, she would never have been put in the path of the revenge juggernaut anyway! Is this true to life? Would a young Korean woman have absolutely no control over her own existence like this and everything she says be ignored?
