again, I doubt ANYONE has watched "every" jdrama or "every" romance jdrama out there, since there's hundreds of thousands of jdramas that have been produced in history (maybe even more). the total amount of dramas on this site do not even come close to 0.1% of the total amount of jdramas there are.

and yes, I was offended by favoree's comment, because it was ignorant, stupid and Koreaboo bias. even if she did not mean that Koreans "invented" the romance genre, her comment still sounded that way to me, and that really upset me. if she just meant that she prefers kdramas, then why not just say so? instead of giving such Koreaboo bias crap.
Even if she had said "the idea is similar to kdramas", I would have been ok with that...but no, she had to go so far as to say "Korean-style", are you kidding me? the Japanese have been making serious romance dramas LONG before Korea did.

like I pointed out before, Japan has been making romance dramas LONG before Korea did, if you watch some old romantic jdramas from the 90s, then you'll probably understand where the Koreans got many of their ideas from. and it seems nowadays Korea is making more adaptions of japanese mangas or remakes of old classic jdramas, like the 1991 love jdrama '101 marriage proposals'.
Really, quite alot of kdramas got their ideas from Japanese sources one way or another.
and there is alot of diversity in jdramas, this is why I love watching jdramas because it has many different genres, so you don't get bored. Unlike kdramas which are mainly the same old repetitive cliche love stories over and over again. I lost interest in kdramas because of their repetitiveness.
