An Inaccurate Memoir (Chinese Movie)

Description: An Inaccurate Memoir is set in another mysterious 'Wild East' town ? this time during the last Sino-Japanese War. Rich-kid gang leader Fang Youwang (played by China?s new Prince Charming, Huang Xiaoming) kidnaps Gao Dongliang, a wealthy groom-to-be. Surprise: Fang's mistress falls for Gao, while Fang himself gradually evolves into a patriotic hero intent on fighting off the invading Japanese. Bloodshed, gunfights and a mixture of both humour and eeriness that brings to mind the likes of surrealists Akira Kurosawa and Takeshi Kitano, should stand An Inaccurate Memoir in good stead. A screenplay by Zhang Xiaobei, one of China?s most reputable film critics, doesn?t hurt either.
